How to enter

Scrutineering

2010 sees the inaugural La Dolce Italia Billy Cart Grand and we want you to enter.
 
Here is a list of ideas to make it easy for you to enter.

1. Read through the website and understand the event.

2. Find someone to build your cart according to the regulations on the website.

3. Find six other friends or family to be part of your team

4. Start building your cart- remember to look at the themes that it can be built around.

5. Make sure that you have all your safety equipment - gloves and helmets for the team.

6. Log on again and register your team.

7. Arrive for scrutineering on Sunday 28th February and get ready to race.

  • Prior to entering the track for EACH event, all members of a team must line up together and will be checked for clothing, helmets, gloves, footwear and, if satisfactory, a sticker placed on their shoulder prior to competing.  

  • All team members are to remain with the Cart in the dummy grid area.  

  • At the start of each event, the new team members will be led by a. official to arrive at the C/O point via the track.  The C/O Official will check the sticker displayed on each participants shoulder to indicate that they have passed the safety check.  

  • All other people will be removed from the track, leaving only team members who are competing in the current event on the track.

  • Participants in the event that has just finished must return to their pits via the common walkways and NOT along the track.

  • Teams MUST ensure that least one person is holding onto their Cart at all times, meaning that Carts are NOT to be pushed towards the new changeover team members without a team member holding onto the Cart.  A stop/go penalty of 5 seconds to be enforced by the second C/O official for any team that “lets go” of their Cart and “flings” it during a changeover.

ALL BILLY CART PUSHERS WILL NEED TO PRESENT THEMSELVES AND THEIR SAFETY EQUIPMENT TO THE SCRUTINEERS TO RECEIVE AN OKAY STICKER.
