2004 - Over sixty teams registered for a day that started out cold and ended in beautiful sunshine. It was also the year that the VACC Challenge was introduced. Again Kmart Racing was our special guests. It also was the first year of the Services Trophy for the local Police, CFA and SES.
2005 - With over 65 teams and a total of 585 competitors 2005 was a mammoth year with special guest Rick Kelly from the Holden Racing Team giving an appearance to sign autographs and have photos.
2006 - A record 75 teams (700 competitors) ranging from students in Grade 3 to those in the Open category and a crowd of around 3500. Silver Bullet Racing in the Open category set a new lap record around track of 1 min 13.5 secs. Rolling Hills won the most entered team prize and the Yealians – Yea Primary school won the best dressed competition.

2007 - 78 teams competed on the day making it the biggest billy cart day yet with more competitors and spectators than ever before. Silver Bullet Racing is still yet to be beaten in the Open division and Nunawading Christian College entered the most teams.
2008 - The event started out with a fantastic fancy dress competition won by Nunawading Christian College, this was followed by 85 teams (approx 765 competitors) racing around the track in the Leader Dash. Unfortunately due to weather the Billy Cart Grand Prix had to be cancelled half way through the big day.
2009 - LightFM, Melbourne’s positive alternative radio station formed a partnership with the Billy Cart Grand Prix supplying radio advertising, a race team and having live crosses throughout the day of the event. Lucy from the Luke and Lucy segment drove the cart for the team. Our special guest on the day was V8 Supercar driver Tony D’Alberto, who also raced with the LightFM race team. A final highlight was the new lap record of the circuit by Silver Bullet Race team of 1 minute and 14 seconds around the 500m track.
